Étude de l'interaction plasma-matériau : application au foudroiement des aéronefs

Abstract : The increasing use of carbon fiber composite materials in the new generations of aircraft requires many upstream studies to ensure a safety flight after a lightning strike. To reduce the cost of integration of these materials, numerical tools are being developed to predict the damage. The validation of these tools is done by comparison with experimental measurements, however only few experimental measurements at the lightning strike point are present in the literature.The aim of this PhD is to provide a database of experimental results obtained in controlled configurations, i.e. respecting the standards of thecertification norms with reproducible samples. This database can be used to understand the phenomenology of damage or to validate simulation tools.This dissertation contains three parts. The first one presents the realization of samples used to study the lightning strikes, the second one presents the study the plasma at the lightning strike point, the third one presents the study of the damage caused by the lightning strike.
