Towards a DL-Based semantic user model for web personalization
Abstract
User models play a kernel role in recommender and web personalization systems, especially in an information-rich world. In a knowledge-based user interface environment, a semantic user modeling component serves as important inputs for personalization human-computer interactions and adaptive strategies for interfaces. This paper proposes a semantic user model integrated into a web personalization system which that is based on an expressive description logic language. The user model employs both static and dynamic user information to predict user features relevant to a given application domain. The logic-based user-modeling framework acts as a support for a semantic Web personalization system to tailor information services to the user. Our user-modeling approach is exemplarily applied to the tourism domain, to describe user information and identify user's classification.
