Analytical computation of IPMSM air gap magnetic flux density and Electrical parameters considering space harmonics

Résumé

The determination of inductance and emf space harmonics is a main concern when looking for an accurate design. In this study an IPMSM is analytically modelled in order to determine the position dependence of the machine parameters. Both winding factor and tooth factor theories are used for air gap magnetic flux density derivation combined with an original method for magnetic flux density computation. Then, the IPMSM parameters are analytically derived and compared to finite element computations. As a result the space harmonics of the electrical parameters are actually included in the parameter waveforms as a function of the rotor position.
