L'arc électrique en conditions de pression aéronautique : étude académique et application à un contacteur HVDC en environnement dépressurisé

Abstract : The work presented here is a contribution to the study of DC electric arcs under aeronautical pressure conditions, thus participating in the many studies concerning the "more electric" aircraft. The application of the work presented here concerns more particularly the switching off under these conditions. Two parts are presented: on the one hand, an academic study concerning electric arcs supplied at 540 V DC in a simple geometric configuration during which the extinction gap and the energy dissipated in the arc were estimated according to various parameters (pressure, current intensity, opening velocity) and on the other hand, a study consisting of switching off tests with an industrial contactor usually used at atmospheric pressure. The objective of this practical study is to estimate the limits of use of such equipment.
