On homogenization of fiber-reinforced polymers

Abstract : The purpose of this contribution is to get equivalent constitutive parameters of fiber-reinforced polymers with periodic arrangements of fibers via homogenization. The homogeneized structure is used to replace the original one to speed up field calculations without losing much accuracy. A rigorous derivation is sketched, and computational accuracy for lossy and lossless materials exhibited for TE and TM impinging waves, validation being provided by a semi-analytical approach
