Temporal Stack Speckle and Target Filtering for Environmental Applications

Abstract : SAR images are affected by speckle noise and the presence of ephemeral targets. We propose a method to filter both from individual images in a temporal stack through the use of a modified Frozen Background Reference (FBR) algorithm. We tested this on a 30-image stack of Sentinel-1 data over a region with different environments and a fair appearing on a few images.
