Techniques champ proche : du système antennaire à l'application sur le terrain

Abstract : In this synthesis, I give an overview of my research activities in applied electromagnetism. Focused on antenna behavioral modeling, my first contributions aimed at proposing a bridge between numerical simulation and experimental characterization of antennas. In a second time, I address my contributions in the theme of near-field antenna characterization through the matrix method for the far-field radiation pattern calculation. These experimental activities are at the origin of several national and international collaborations. Finally, I discuss my contributions on microwave imaging applied to ground probing radar. I present the conclusions of the modeling of the direct problem by the DGTD method and the resolution of the inverse problem by Linear Sampling Method. The adopted applications are the detection of tree root systems (architecture) and the location of underground cables in real life situations. The research work on near-surface imagery is multidisciplinary and constitutes the point of convergence of my previous activities including the antenna developments dedicated to ground radar.
